CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — In February, the City of Charleston announced all events scheduled to take place at the Municipal Auditorium would be halted and that the building would be temporarily closed due “critical electrical and structural issues.’

On Thursday, April 4, a special committee meeting about the Municipal Auditorium was held and the findings of a final engineering and architectural report were released.

The major takeaway from the assessment – the city has two options, fully renovate the auditorium and add an addition onto the existing space or demolish and rebuild.
