Community gathers to remember Barnsdall man whose body was found after deadly tornado | News [Video]

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The community came together for the memorial service of Wayne Hogue, whose body was found after a deadly tornado swept through Barnsdall.

The memorial was held Saturday morning at the Tuxedo Assembly of God Church in Bartlesville.

Wayne Hogue, 81, went missing after the EF4 tornado blew away his home. Search and rescue teams spent days looking for Wayne.

On May 11, a body was recovered from Bird Creek. The Medical Examiner later confirmed the body found was Wayne.

FOX23 was at the memorial Saturday and spoke to Wayne’s son, Richard Hogue. He said his spirits were high while he remembered his dad. 

“This is a celebration for him, he’s in Heaven,” Richard said. “We’re taking this time to celebrate him, kind of a short and sweet deal, because he was a simple man.”

Richard expressed gratitude to the community for their support.
