Construction resumes at South Station Tower after fire [Video]

Construction at South Station Tower has resumed after a fire on site last week. The fire on April 9 was on the outside deck of the ninth floor of the building under construction at 700 Atlantic Ave. in Boston.Suffolk Construction said Friday that the work resumed one day after the fire after a safety review. Suffolk said they brought in key subcontractors, union leaders and company senior leadership to conduct a thorough job site safety review. That fire came just weeks after a piece of metal fell several stories from the tower to the 9th floor.The fire happened less than a month after two windows high above the same South Station tower were smashed by a beam that fell from high above the streets of Boston.In that incident, a large, orange steel I-beam was bent and dangling eight to nine stories above an entrance to South Station along Atlantic Avenue.Construction …
