Construction worker dies in North Slope incident [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A construction company worker was killed in a workplace incident Wednesday on Alaska’s North Slope, according to officials with Hilcorp and the Alaska Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

An Alaska OSHA spokesperson confirmed the fatality that occurred Wednesday on the North Slope and said the agency is currently investigating the circumstances around the “unfortunate” event.

Luke Miller, manager of Alaska Government and Public Affairs with Hilcorp Energy, told Alaska’s News Source on Thursday that an employee with Chosen Construction Inc. was killed on the job at the Central Compression Plant in Prudhoe Bay, a main hub of Alaska’s oil and gas industry.
