The serial sex offender who was involved in the kidnapping, rape and murder of 20-year-old Sydney bank teller Janine Balding is back behind bars after being arrested less than two weeks after his release.
Police allege he had failed to comply with his supervision order by searching for and viewing explicit material.
Wilmot appeared at Waverley Court this afternoon, where he was represented by a Legal Aid solicitor who indicated the 51-year-old would plead guilty – although a plea wasn’t formally entered – and not make an application for release.
Wilmot was 15 when he was part of the gang of five teenagers who kidnapped, raped and then murdered Balding in 1988.
