Coroner IDs woman killed in West Ashley motorcycle crash [Video]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has released the name of a woman who died following a motorcycle crash.

Ashleigh McWilliams, 33, of Charleston, died at the Medical University of South Carolina from blunt force injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. Monday on the Highway 61 off-ramp of the Fielding Connector, Sgt. Chris Stinson said.

McWilliams was riding on the elevated off-ramp of the Fielding Connector toward Highway 61 and Wesley Drive when she lost control and fell from the overpass, he said. She was taken to MUSC where she died from her injuries at 5:25 p.m.
