CPS attendance area new options available to public | Mid-Missouri News [Video]

In a public input meeting Wednesday, the Columbia School Board revealed its final four maps for its attendance area redistricting.

An update was provided to the public as well, discussing the timeline of the changes.

In phase one of altering attendance areas back in April, parents of elementary school students faced concerns, now it’s the parents of middle school and high school students. The Board of Education took in the previous feedback offered from the community earlier this May and restructured it into the four new options.

The new plans were broken into two, two-part sections that had drastically different options for parents and community members to vote on. 

In the first set, options A-1 and A-2 outlines that parents of high school students would have nothing to worry about, as it would not move any high school students. Rather, between 1,605 students in option one and 1,632 students in option two would move from both …
