CTA Brown, Purple Line trains delayed at Sedgwick due to medical emergency [Video]

CHICAGO — Significant delays on the Brown and Purple lines were reported Wednesday evening following an apparent suicide on the tracks at Sedgwick.

Following what CTA deemed a medical emergency, “Brown Line service has been temporarily suspended between Southport and the Loop. Brown Line trains are operating only between Kimball and Southport at this time.”

Crews are working to restore full service.

As a result, CTA shuttle buses are available between Southport and Clark and Lake to provide connecting service.

CTA riders are also encouraged to consider alternate routes.

SkyCam9 flew above the scene and witnessed dozens of passengers de-boarding the Brown Line train at Sedgwick. City paramedics were also on scene.
