DC Public Libraries offering solar eclipse glasses [Video]

WASHINGTON — The Total Solar Eclipse is right around the corner. A celestial event we won’t experience in the United States again for two whole decades. 

With so many people eager to get a glimpse of this eclipse, WUSA9 wants to remind DMV residents how unsafe it is to look at the eclipse without the proper safety eyewear. Our area is not within the path of totality, so solar eclipse glasses or a solar eclipse viewer is essential to look at the eclipse.

The D.C. Public Library tweeted out a few libraries that still had solar eclipse glasses available in the region. We reached out to these libraries to confirm their stock and as of Friday afternoon:

Distribution of the glasses will run through Monday, April 8. Residents are advised to call ahead as the numbers are changing daily.
