Deadline arrives for San Diegans seeking flood relief from FEMA [Video]

SAN DIEGO (FOX /KUSI) — The deadline for San Diegans to apply for flooding relief from FEMA has officially arrived.

Friday, April 19 is the last day for residents to request Federal Disaster Assistance following the damage and flooding from the January storm.

Many in-person recovery centers are closing as well.

So far, more than 2,800 households have been approved for FEMA funding to help them with short-term rental assistance, home repair costs and other essential disaster-related expenses.

While most in-person disaster help centers our closing after Friday, the one in Mountain View is instead converting its operation to focus on helping small businesses starting Monday. It will become a disaster loan outreach center.

Small businesses and nonprofits will have until Nov. 19 to apply for an economic injury disaster loan. After Friday, the city will have resources available online to help.
