TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – An investigation is underway in Defiance after a preschooler was left on a school bus Thursday April 11.
Defiance City Schools Superintendent Robert Morton confirmed the information to 13 Action News. Morton added the incident is under investigation by the Defiance Police Department and Defiance County Job and Family Services.
“We don’t condone this type of behavior. We train our drivers to follow safety procedures and protocols and we did not follow those safety procedures and protocols,” said Morton.
Morton said the school bus driver was put on administrative leave when the school learned about the child, and by Friday afternoon the driver resigned and is no longer employed.
