Department of Natural Resources offering courtesy boat inspections Saturday [Video]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – On Saturday, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will be offering courtesy boat inspections.

The Department of Natural Resources’ Law Enforcement will perform inspections for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations in Charleston and Berkeley Counties.

Those who are found not to be in compliance will not be ticketed, but will instead be given a chance to correct whatever problems have been found. Officers will also answer questions and provide safety tips for boaters.

The Department of Natural Resources will be conducting boat inspections at the following locations.

  • Charleston County: Remley’s Point Landing, Mount Pleasant, 9-11 a.m.
  • Berkeley County: William H. Dennis Landing, Tail Race Canal, Moncks Corner, 9-11 a.m.
