Disaster food assistance relief open for families impacted by May tornadoes [Video]

Disaster food assistance relief (D-SNAP) has been approved for areas that were hit by storms over Memorial Day Weekend. The program gives food assistance to families who would not ordinarily qualify, but suddenly need help because of the storms. According to the Arkansas Department of Human Services, to qualify you must have lived in Rogers or Decatur at the time of the storm and suffered loss or damages. People who live in those areas must have experienced one of the following as a direct result of the tornadoes:• Damage to or destruction of their home or self-employment business• Loss or inaccessibility of income including a reduction or termination of income, or a significant delay in receiving income due to disaster-related problems• Disaster-related expenses (home or business repairs, temporary shelter, evacuation, etc.) that are not expected to be reimbursed during the disaster benefit periodD-SNAP benefits will be provided through an electron …
