ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Dr.Kenneth Ingram is an optometrist with 32 years of clinical experience, looking to develop his expertise in the medico-legal area, specifically with expert report writing. He has been a member of the Registrations and Notifications Committee of the Optometry Board of Australia since 2020, with considerable experience at reading case notes, clinical records, expert reports and responding to notifications and recommending decisions and actions regarding these notifications about optometrists. Expert reports and being an expert witness are a natural extension of these skills. His expertise as an optometrist would centre on the functional aspects of vision correction (such as the suitability and functionality of prescribed spectacles)

In this presentation, Dr.Ingram talks about different medicolegal issues for optometrists – for example, optical /spectacle prescription issues, post-operative or post-traumatic visual rehabilitation and non-surgical care of the red eye.
