NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police are searching for a Staten Island motorist who fled the scene earlier this month after making a sharp turn without signaling, causing a collision with a motorcyclist who was ejected from his bike and critically injured.
At about 9 p.m. on June 4, a 28-year-old man riding a motorcycle was traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard in Mid Island behind a 2010 Toyota Sequoia.
The Toyota operator made a sharp left turn onto Kell Avenue with no signal, which police said caused a collision with the 28-year-old.
The force of the crash ejected the victim from his motorcycle, and the Toyota driver ran him over as he fled southbound on Kell Avenue.
EMS rushed the motorcyclist to Staten Island University North Campus in critical condition.
Police are searching for the male Toyota driver, and released a surveillance image of the suspect on Thursday.
