CASSELTON, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Nebraska man is facing several charges after he failed to stop at railroad, resulting in him being hit by a train.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 7 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, near 154th Ave SE just west of Casselton.
The BNSF train ending up struck the front of the truck causing it to spinout. The man was wearing a seat belt and airbags were deployed. NDHP is reporting that the man has serious injuries and was taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Authorities say that the driver is facing multiple charges including: Distracted Driving, Driving under the influence, Open container of an alcoholic beverage, and Unlawful possession of THC.
The name of the driver will be released at a later time.
