Driver who critically injured cyclist in hit-and-run turns himself in, cops say [Video]

A driver who turned himself in the day after he allegedly critically injured a bicyclist in a hit-and-run is now facing criminal charges.

A dark colored SUV struck a man on a bicycle on June 20 around 2:30 a.m. near Erial Road and Blackwood-Clementon Road in Gloucester Township. The vehicle did not come to a stop, authorities said.

The next day, Christopher Bucceroni, 28, of West Deptford, turned himself in to police, officials said. On Tuesday, was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, a third-degree crime, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release.

The cyclist, an 18-year-old man from Gloucester Township, remains in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital, officials said.
