LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK) – While summer is in full swing for students, East Texas schools are urgently searching for applicants ahead of the new school year.

Chapel Hill ISD announces new junior high principal

“We’re looking for people who are also seeking to become a leader,” said Shalona McCray, Longview ISD assistant superintendent of human resources and community resources.

Longview Independent School District is currently hiring more than 20 positions.

“Special education teachers, bilingual and we have several positions open here in the central office,” said McCray.

LISD and Chapel Hill ISD are hiring transportation, child nutritionists and groundskeeper positions.

“Secondary math and science positions along with elementary teaching positions. We’re looking for diagnosticians and a chief of police,” said Deidra Sutton, Chapel Hill ISD, Executive Director of Human Resources and Student Services.

Tyler ISD is also looking to add people to their team: principals, coaches, teachers and several other roles.
