EMA directors discuss emergency event communication [Video]

MAHANOY CITY, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — How prepared are area counties for emergency or weather incidents such as the tornado that hit Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County this week, and is enough being done to get critical information out to the public during these incidents?

Can more be done to improve the flow of critical information during emergencies in our communities? That was the question Wednesday at a special meeting of emergency management directors from Pennsylvania and members of the news media.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency PEMA set up the event. The I-Team Andy Mehalshick was asked to take part in that meeting.
