The first residents moved into our Kaski Residential Home in Pokhara in July 2010, with our second home opening its doors in Dharan in 2014. The Residential Homes have capacity for 48 residents and as well as caring for elderly Gurkha veterans and widows, they also provide rehabilitative care for those who require it. Alongside providing round-the-clock care, staff at the homes provide regular social activities and outings to keep them active and improve their mental well-being.
Residents are taken out on regular field trips to give them new experiences, enhancing their daily lives and creating memories together. The field trips take residents to local places of beauty, attractions, or religious sites, with an annual trip including an overnight stay to that they can travel further afield.
