Family ‘heartbroken’ after teen, 17, dies in Kilkenny construction site accident just days after completing Leaving Cert [Video]

TRIBUTES have poured in for a teenager who tragically died in an accident on an Irish construction site.

Luke Crosbie, 17, from Nuenna Court, Freshford, sadly passed away yesterday following a workplace accident on a site near the north Kilkenny village.

The young lad had just completed his Leaving Certificate at the nearby Colaiste Mhuire Vocational school in Johnstown a week earlier.

Staff and students at the school have been left shocked by the incident and the tight-knit community has been ‘left numbed’ following the tragic incident.

It is believed that Luke was working on the construction of a house when the tragedy occurred.

Gardai and emergency services were alerted to the incident in Freshford and raced to the scene but the youngster sadly lost his life.
