Loved ones gathered Thursday to remember the life of a mother of 10 found dead days after going missing.Tomitka Stewart, 41, was last seen Sunday evening near 10th Street and Center Avenue. Her son, Lawrence Lejon-Jurnett, went to the police department Monday when his mom didn’t come home.”This definitely took a hard toll on me. One thing I know, I must say, I never thought I had to go to the police station and fill a missing report out,” Lejon-Jurnett said. Friends and family waited days without answers until Wednesday. A Milwaukee police spokesperson told WISN 12 News they discovered a car near 29th Street and Ruby Avenue. Investigators put out a critical missing persons alert for Stewart around noon that day when they had reason to suspect foul play in her case.
