OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – A family of three has lost their home after a backyard fire in Olathe over the weekend spread to the house and destroyed it.
The Olathe Fire Department says that around 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, emergency crews were called to the area of 143rd and Mur-Len Rd. – near Dixon Stadium and Pioneer Field – with reports of a house fire.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a 2-story home on fire. The blaze appeared to have started in the backyard before it spread to the home.
While no injuries were reported, firefighters indicated that the home was significantly damaged. The Red Cross was called in to help the now-displaced family of three.
