FEMA opens Mobile Disaster Recovery Center in Jessamine County [Video]

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — This past spring was a tough time for Kentucky. Severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, landslides, and strong winds left many homeowners in need of assistance. They’re now getting that with FEMA’s Disaster Recovery Centers popping up throughout the state.

One mobile recovery center will be open for a short time in Jessamine County.

“We show up to any disaster that gets declared by the president, and we are on the ground to assist with the recovery process. We want people to know that we are here for the people of Kentucky, and if they were affected by the storms that we requested, they apply for the assistance that they deserve,” FEMA spokesperson, Gregory Boster said.

This assistance helps survivors pay for things such as home repairs, childcare, transportation, and medical needs. Boster encourages everyone affected by the storms to apply, recognizing that the severity of damages between person to person …
