Fire causes significant damage to Hampden home [Video]

HAMPDEN, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Mutual aid was called to a house fire on Chestnut Hill Road in Hampden on Thursday morning.

Crews from Hampden and Wilbraham arrived to the scene around 3:45 a.m. Somers firefighters also stood by with a tanker in case more water was needed.

Officials said working smoke detectors were able to alert the people living inside to the fire and they were all able to get out safely, but not before signigicant damage to the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials said it is not suspicious.
