Fire department hosts open house in Wilkes-Barre [Video]

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — This week marks the 50th National EMS Week, a week of education and appreciation. A local fire department held an open house to commemorate the week and offer some valuable resources to the community.

The theme for this year’s National EMS Week is honoring our past, forging our future.

On Tuesday, the City of Wilkes-Barre Fire Department did just that, by honoring the two men who helped to start the EMS department in the city, and hosting an open house, showing the community what emergency services they have to offer.

It’s a day of community and celebration at the city of Wilkes-Barre’s Hollenback Station.
