Fire guts Warren County home near Phillipsburg [Video]

Fire crews responded to a call for a house fire in Stewartsville, Greenwich Township, on Friday afternoon.

Dispatcher records show the call for support to suppress a “fully involved fire on both floors” went out around 1:19 p.m. to suppress flames at the home in the 300 block of Thomas Carling Drive.

A fire is fully involved when it presents a greater risk to firefighters and civilians and requires a more aggressive and coordinated response. The flames were suppressed within the hour.

The home was mostly a shell of its former self by 2 p.m. There was no immediate word on injuries.

Officials were unable at the scene to confirm whether the home was occupied at the time of the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
