FIRE TO SURVIVE: Plane crash survivor inspires others thanks to life saving burn care at New Orleans hospital [Video]

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A local charter pilot flying organ transplant patients across the country found himself in desperate need of medical attention after surviving a fiery crash in Slidell.

Now, he credits his life to the groundbreaking work at University Medical Center in New Orleans.

“When something comes available, you have to go when the time is right.,” said Dale Lambert.

Work was a race against the clock for Lambert, bringing patients the lifesaving medical attention they needed.

Lambert mostly flew missions for the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, but on November 6, 2022, he flew with a U.S. veteran.

“It was a heart transplant patient who got a call. We shortly got a call afterward,” said Lambert. “Flew them from Atlanta to Nashville and dropped them off there.”

After finishing his work, he set his instruments to the airport in Slidell.

“I had an uneventful flight home,” Lambert said. …
