Flood relief supplies available at Belpre City Building [Video]

BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP) – Belpre residents affected by flooding last week have a chance to get some free supplies to help get them through a difficult time.

In the wake of recent flooding, the City of Belpre is taking part in the Church of Christ’s disaster relief efforts.

Mayor Susan Abdella said the city is handing out water, food boxes, blankets and cleaning supplies to anyone who needs them.

The city received the supplies on Friday. Since then, Abdella said about a dozen people have come in for supplies.

Abdella said overall, the city’s relief efforts after the flood have been going well. “Belpre had several areas that had significant water,” Abdella said. “Luckily, we only had a few people that had to be evacuated from their homes.
