TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — If you’ve held off on purchasing your hurricane supplies, this weekend may be the time to do so. Florida’s first of two Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holidays begins on Saturday, June 1, and runs for two weeks, through June 14.

“We always want to make sure we’re available for the community,” said Home Depot Store Manager Anthony Robinson. “To put themselves in a great position to take care of themselves and their families.”

Home Depot is one of many stores around the Tampa Bay area participating in the holiday. The state expects Floridians to save millions during these holidays.

During the sale, you can avoid sales tax on generators under $3,000, tarps under $100, smoke alarms under $70, weather radios under $50, and plenty of other items. For a full list, click here.
