BANGOR — The recent tornados and destructive storms in the southern region of the United States have left people in a place of devastation, and one Mainer is lending a helping hand.
Maine resident Raybo Frank boarded a flight at the Bangor International Airport on Friday, May 31st that headed straight to Texas.
For 8 years, Frank has been a volunteer with the American Red Cross and will be working as a shelter supervisor in between the Dallas and Houston area.
Frank says he has family in Arkansas who was impacted by an EF-3 tornado.
“Going in and helping people, it is the world,” Frank said with a smile. “If one of the Red Crossers is down, we pick them up. If we see somebody in the shelter, we pick them up. If the need is there, Red Cross is there and Raybo is there.”
