Garden of Healing looks to continue mission of organ donation awareness, includes plan to expand [Video]

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The Garden of Healing planted its roots in 2021, three years after the son of Sarah and Arlin Fisher passed away in an accident. Over the years, the garden has helped them in their mission to raise awareness for organ donation.

22-year-old Cameron Bolton passed away after a crash near Mapleton in 2018, but has saved the lives of many through organ donation. In 2021, Sarah and Arlin broke ground on the Garden of Healing, located in Urban Plains Park. The vision came while watching the news.

“We have a lot of physical and emotional suffering in this community,” said Arlin. “We need to do something about it.”

For the Fishers, the beauty of the garden not only comes from the blooming of the plants but from the stories of its visitors.

“A lot of families, whether they are from town or out of town, are looking for some place like this to just come and process the whole loss,” …
