Girls Scouts recognized in Louisville for years of service | News from WDRB [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Several local Girls Scouts were recognized at the start of summer.

A ceremony was held at the Jeffersonian in Jeffersontown on Sunday to honor participants who received the Gold Award. It’s the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.

Seven recipients, all of whom are in high school, worked on projects designed to make a lasting change. Other awards include Silver Awards for middle schoolers and all senior Girl Scouts were recognized for their more than a decade of service to the community.

“Some of the girls that were in my daughter’s troop now have girls that are in the Girl Scouts and I call them my grand scouts because it’s the next generation,” said Terri Sanders, volunteer for Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. “I can see these girls being whatever they can or choose to be.”
