Go Now: Evacuations set for Darlene Fire in La Pine [Video]

LA PINE Ore. (KPTV) – People in La Pine have been ordered to evacuate near Highway 97 due to the Darlene Fire.

Level 3: Go Now

• East of the railroad tracks near Darlene Way and Ice Cave Road
• East of Highway 97 north of Reed Road including areas off Roseland Road and Newberry Estates

Level 2: Be Set

• South of Bassett Drive, West of railroad tracks, and north of Highway 31

The fire is estimated to be 1,700 acres in size with 0% containment.

A temporary evacuation point was set up at La Pine High School, staffed by the Red Cross. There is a small animal shelter at La Pine Rodeo Grounds.

Governor Tina Kotek invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act for the fire, which sparked around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
