Ham Radio Field Day held in Lackawanna County [Video]

GREENFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — People enjoyed learning about Ham Radio on Saturday in Lackawanna County. 

The Windmill Amateur Radio Club held its annual Summer Field Day at Merli-Sarnoski Park in Greenfield Township.

Ham Radio, or amateur radio, is a popular hobby, it can also be used to send emergency communications without the internet.

The purpose of the field day event is to practice setting up radio stations and sending emergency signals in times of crisis.
