Hateful messages, symbols spray painted on 9 cars, vans, trucks in central Phoenix [Video]

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Messages of hate have been scrawled across one Phoenix neighborhood this week.

Nine cars, vans, and trucks were vandalized in the area between 22nd and 32nd streets and between McDowell and Thomas Roads.

Now neighbors and police are asking for help to track down those responsible.

Much of the vandalism is gone, but the who and why remain a mystery, which is concerning and frustrating for those who live in this community.

“They used the N word. Very foul language,” said Patricia Rush.

Racial slurs, offensive phrases and symbols were spray-painted on the vehicles on her street.

“Just unnecessary and ignorant,” said Rush. “It is very shocking to me, very.”

Neighbors like Rush are on high alert. “I don’t know who is doing it. I don’t know what their motive is for doing it. What’s drawing them to our neighborhood to do it?” said Rush.
