HONOLULU (Island News) — This week Hawaii recognized the nine-month anniversary of the deadly Lahaina wildfire. As Maui continues to recover, Wildfire Community Preparedness Day was held Friday at the Hawaii State Capitol.
Governor Josh Green said, “Over 98 percent of wildfires in Hawaii are human caused, many due to campfires, open flames, improper cigarette disposal or equipment malfunction, so please be very careful.”
