SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – From diagnosis to operational care, and post-operative care, trauma surgeons do a lot of work each day and their job is critical.

KTIV met with victims of various traumatic injuries and the doctors who are helping them through a difficult time. They were able to share their stories from the start of the accident to their current situation.

A 24-year-old Angie Lopez had her life change at a moment’s notice. It started when she was getting dropped off by her dad downtown with her friends. As she was leaving the vehicle, she was struck by a motorcycle. Angie was brought into MercyOne with a severe traumatic brain injury.
