Health clinic in Over-The-Rhine could be closing its doors [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A popular community health clinic in Over-The-Rhine could be closing or relocating, causing concern in the neighborhood.

According to the Cincinnati Health Department, it could be relocating or consolidating the Bobbie Sterne Health Center on Elm Street, across from TQL Stadium.

Residents say the absence of a clinic in the neighborhood could jeopardize their health. They say the busy clinic provides dental care, physicals, and blood pressure tests at an affordable price.

“They have a paying scale for your income,” Angela, one resident, said. “Which is a bonus because some people can’t afford it at regular rates, me included.”

Tim said he comes to the clinic because he can get free medication.

The Cincinnati Health Department Masters Facility Plan said relocating or consolidating the clinic could save $9 million in maintenance costs over the next five years. The report said consolidating programs could improve community access, but …
