Health Insurance: People With Heart And Kidney Diseases Can Buy Health Policy; Check New Rules [Video]

Health Insurance Age Restriction:  Insurance regulator IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) has removed the age restriction of 65 years for people buying a health insurance plan. It is being done to widen the market and advance adequate security from health care costs. IRDAI’s goal behind eliminating the most extreme age limit for buying a health insurance plan is to advance a progressively inclusive and open healthcare ecosystem that guarantees adequate security against unforeseen clinical costs.

According to previous rules, people were permitted to purchase another protection plan just up to the age of 65 years. However, with the new amendment, anybody of any age can buy the new protection plan. This correction becomes effective from 1 April 2024.
