Heat advisory affecting Central Alabama until Monday evening [Video]

A heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 12:04 a.m. valid for Monday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Tallapoosa, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour counties.

The weather service comments, “Heat index values in excess of 105 expected.”

“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses,” adds the weather service.

• Seek cool shelter: Stay in an air-conditioned room.
• Avoid sun exposure: Stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
