PEORIA (25News Now) – Many will be traveling by car Memorial Day weekend, meaning they will want to check on a few things before hitting the road.

Advanced Auto Shop District Manager Noe Ozaeta says there are certain precautions drivers should take before their trip, such as making sure their wipers are working properly.

He also advises people to have good equipment, such as jumper cables and an emergency kit.

“You want to make sure that your car is ready to take that trip wherever it is that you’re going,” Ozaela said.

“You want to make sure you do things like get your oil changed if it’s been a while since you’ve done that. You want to make sure your fluids are checked and topped off. You want to make sure your lights are working properly, that way you can travel safely, and other people know what you’re doing,” he …
