Hormel Institute invites community to enjoy science | News [Video]

AUSTIN, Minn.-The Hormel Institute has been in Austin for over 80 years, bringing advancements in research and giving the community a chance to be engaged in science.

On June 15th, the Hormel Institute invited the public through its doors to ‘Discover Science Together.’

Hormel Institute community outreach and education coordinator Kelly Vincelette says, “We know that the more that people interact with science or activities not only does it build interest in potentially science careers but it also hopefully builds some trust into the science that’s happening at the Hormel Institute and other institutions like this.”

Activities at the event included walking through a giant replica of the colon, making colorful butterflies with paper and water, bouncing bubbles and even learning the makeup of blood.
