How Yankees Juan Soto snuck back in lineup minutes before 1st pitch, igniting offense in win [Video]

TORONTO — Yankees manager Aaron Boone was getting himself ready for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Blue Jays when Juan Soto popped his head into the skipper’s office with about 10 minutes to go until first pitch.

The superstar had an important question.

“Is it too late to get in there?”

The Yankees had already announced their starting lineup for the series finale at Rogers Centre and Soto — who hurt his right hand while sliding into home plate on Friday night — wasn’t included.

Boone thought for a second.

“No, I don’t think so.”

At that point, Boone needed to find out if Soto was healthy enough to play.
