Improving access to learning | UNICEF Somalia [Video]

The Education Cannot Wait – supported programme in Somaliland is implemented by UNICEF, in partnership with the Somaliland Ministry of Education and Science, and local partners. The programme recognizes that continuous access to quality learning is a priority for children and families affected by conflicts, natural disasters and displacement and it aims to transform the delivery in education in emergencies.

Through the programme, learners are provided with school supplies, safe drinking water and supplementary feeding. The partners also rehabilitate classrooms, construct durable water solutions, provide incentives to teachers and offer them capacity building to give more children the chance to enrol in school – especially older children who might have never attended school before.
