Injured Red Sox IF/OF finally feels good after cortisone shot [Video]

BOSTON — Injured infielder/outfielder Romy Gonzalez’s wrist is feeling “a lot better” after he received a cortisone shot, manager Alex Cora said.

Gonzalez suffered a left wrist sprain April 10, one day after the Red Sox recalled him from Triple-A Worcester. Boston placed him on the 10-day injured list April 13.

“Romy finally feels good today,” Cora said Friday. “He had an injection a few days ago.”

Cora had just said Thursday that Gonzalez was not feeling well and not close to returning.

“This has kind of changed in two days to be honest with you,” Cora said. “Two days (ago) when he texted me, I was like, ‘This is not going the right way.’”

Boston claimed Gonzalez off waivers from the White Sox on Jan. 31. The 27-year-old right-handed hitter went 9-for-28 (.321 batting average) with a .375 on-base percentage, three homers, two doubles, one triple, 10 RBIs, five runs, two walks and six strikeouts in seven games for the WooSox …
