JCFD training complex to be completed by October [Video]

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A new training complex for the Johnson City Fire Department (JCFD) is set to be complete by October.

The training complex, located behind Station 7 at 2830 West Walnut Street, will house classrooms and offices for the fire department.

“It is exciting to see this amazing, state-of-the-art facility take shape,” Chief David Bell said in a news release. “This complex marks another milestone in the Johnson City Fire Department’s history and its commitment to excellence in firefighting and community safety. This project is part of the Department’s ongoing mission to ensure our firefighters have the tools and skills needed to protect lives and property effectively, no matter the challenge.”

The city broke ground on the $4.5 million structure on Sept. 11, 2023, by using American Rescue Plan Act funds.
