SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Saturday the community banded together in an effort to fight back against type 1 diabetes.
The JDRF South Dakota One Walk took place at 11:00 am at Augustana University.
The organization shrunk following the pandemic, but over the past two years, they have renewed the battle.
The walk serves as a fundraiser and a way to raise awareness about the impact of diabetes on children.
“When my son was diagnosed quite a few years ago there wasn’t much education, there weren’t many medical resources that we have today. I’m trying to keep that message going and trying to improve help for type 1 diabetics,” Lowell Feucht said, a walk participant.
