Jeff Davis Parish School Board prepares for school safety [Video]

JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) – With state-of-the-art security systems, single point entries, and weapon monitors, Jeff Davis Parish is ensuring school safety for students, faculty and staff.

Jeff Davis Superintendent John Hall says safer schools is the number one priority for the Jeff Davis Parish School Board. “As soon as they get into our school buildings, we want them to not have to worry about school safety and threats that may be coming in.”

He says of the 13 schools throughout the parish, 4 schools (Fenton Elementary, Lacassine High, Jennings High, and Jennings Elementary) currently have vestibules and fencing, while 2 more (Elton High and Elton Elementary) will receive them before the start of the 2024 school year.
