REEDLEY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – While 1500 fire personnel work to put out the flames of the Complex Fire, The Red Cross evacuation center at Reedley College provides food, shelter, and support to the community.
The Complex Fire continues to burn in Fresno County. People in warning areas including Janet Asten, have had to evacuate their homes and leave everything behind.
Evacuation shelter opens in Reedley for Flash, Bolt Fire evacuees
“As you drive away you wonder ‘Is my home gonna be there is my stuff gonna be there?’ because you had to leave things that were really important to you even because you don’t have time to get them together,” Asten said.
Asten’s home was about three blocks from the fire and came to the evacuation center seeking not only a bed to sleep on but emotional support as well.
